CicLAvia www.ciclavia.org/ this is an event held several time in Los angeles and in other cities around the world where street are closed to car traffic and open to bicycles and pedestrians only. the link above is to the los angeles version. One of the pluses of these vents is the major increase in sales along the route. i Am not sure the organizers have successfully tracked the positive impact but if they have that information it will help

I can speak to US data, but not global. Two resources:
America Bikes has info on state-by-state business impact of bike retail stores in the US: http://www.americabikes.org/state_data_index
A UMass study measured the economic impact of publicly funded pedestrian & bicycle infrastructure in the US: http://www.peri.umass.edu/236/hash/64a34bab6a183a2fc06fdc212875a3ad/publicat...

I would suggest contacting the NBDA for a crude number, perhaps US customs too. However most states don't even know their economic impact, let alone a worldwide total of all those unknowns.
