Tim,

Have you tried using a business model canvas worksheet to take a look at how it could play out?

Hi Tim,

A local cycling club, consisting of mostly weekend warriors, joined our community bike shop at a flat rate group price of $750/year. It allowed any of their ~100 members a membership to the shop. In practice, only a dozen or so used it, so it was a great deal financially for us and brought increased exposure to our shop. At the time our individual memberships were $25/year for context.

Hope this helps,

Hi,

I’m on the board of a community bike shop in Ontario, Canada.

We’ve been approached by the HR of a company curious if we would offer a bulk membership to their staff at a discount. We see it adding community building and promotional value as well.

Has anyone done anything like this and how much did you discount? We’re assuming only half the staff of the company would use the membership, but don’t really have any experience to base that on either.

Our current membership gets you use of the space tools and expertise of staff its $40/year for an individual.

Any insight would be awesome, Thanks
