B!KE is now accepting applications for a Director position.
Job Title Community Bike Shop Executive Director
Description The Director will manage B!KE’s ongoing programming, publicity, and administration; work with B!KE’s Board and community partners to coordinate long-term sustainability for the organization; and will facilitate special programming, including workshops, group rides, and events.
Responsibilities
Manage B!KE’s open workshop hours Teach bicycle maintenance and mechanics to B!KE’s members Run volunteer training and information sessions; manage volunteer labour Coordinate B!KE special events with community partners Represent B!KE in media and events Administrate the organization with sound financial management Grant writing and strategic planning to ensure long-term organizational sustainability Required Qualifications
Strong, demonstrable expertise in bicycle mechanics and maintenance Related post-secondary degree or minimum two years experience working in business administration or management, preferably non-profit and/or involving volunteer management Demonstrated experience as a youth or adult educator Demonstrated commitment and experience in social justice concerns, through previous work or volunteerism. Knowledge of transportation politics and anti-poverty issues Grant writing experience CAN-BIKE, LCI, or equivalent cycling instructor certification is an asset. Abilities
Demonstrated ability work creatively and productively without direct supervision Excellent strategic planning skills and creative vision, coupled with the ability to get things done on a day-to-day basis Strong interpersonal skills, sensitivity and tact when dealing with the public Ability to work comfortably and productively with a diverse team of volunteers Excellent computer & design skills are an asset Submission package
