REI has been funding us for a few years now.  Try to make friends with staff at your local store.  The company prefers to support programs in which their employees are involved; without the support of one guy in particular, there's no way we could have gotten more than one year of support.  Our local store also sends us their warranty returns (destroyed frames, but lots of nice new parts to be salvaged) and will sometimes bring us a truckload of their customers' old bikes.

I find that the more we communicate -- both with the folks at reiGives HQ, and with our local friend -- the more smoothly the whole process goes, and the more fun it ends up being for our youth.

We just applied for REI's Youth Recreation grant for $5,000.  I feel pretty good about the proposal we sent in.  What have been other program's experiences with REI's giving program?  Thanks.
