BICAS in Tucson uses Facebook almost exclusively to let people know about our events. Saves a lot of time and resources when it comes to event flyering. We have over 600 group members (we chose "group" status rather than a page for reasons decided long before I arrived- but it seems to work just fine). Like others, I ask people how they heard about our events and nowadays most of them say through FB.

We've talked about upping our FB presence to a "cause" to be able to receive online donations, but we haven't done it yet. Has anyone else out there tried that approach to fundraising?
Like others, we also have a Twitter page but use it mostly to cross pollinate and duplicate announcements. So far Twitter has not been as effective as FB.

I post an article on our joomla website, then log into facebook add do a "link" post on our page -- which automatically posts to our twitter account. Then I copy the text to an email, send it to our email list with a link to the original joomla website article. If it is really important I do the same thing to craigslist, ksl.com, and other local community calendars.
The email list, twitter, facebook, etc.,... links are right on the front page.
So it is hard to say which one is working.

in
sharing. Feel free to email me off list if you'd like.
