Please get in contact with us at Bike PIrates in Toronto ...we having been using the mobile shop concept for about a year now, its far from perfect and love some insight. I personally would love to send parts and tools to native communities.

I have enjoyed reading everyone's posts over the past couple

of months.

My daughter, Anna, was born on May 29th. I had her at home at

my mother's house in Toronto, helped by midwives, one of whom has known me since I was around seven years old.

My mum cut the cord, so three generations of the women of our

family were involved in that act.

Since then, we've all been getting used to our new lives, so

other things have fallen by the wayside.

However, we did manage to put together a bike-shop-in-a-box

for my friend's First Nation community-- it all fits onto a bike trailer we made for it!

 I'd like to thank everyone who posted suggestions and help

about that project. Thank you.

I reread everything you wrote to me, and also many of the

other good posts about tools and equipment that people have shared on this list serve. You are all wonderful people and I love learning from you.

I'm disorganized right now, so you'd have to be patient while

I farted around getting it to you, but I would be happy to send info about our portable shop to those who'd like it.

I have new questions for all of you now:

I'm sure many of you are in families of commuter cyclists--

how young were your children when you started putting them in bike trailers or into one of those little seats?

 Did you ride with them during their first winter of life, or

did you wait until they were a little bigger for all-season communter cycling?

 Do any of you get asked for help figuring out how to be bike

dependant with little kids when you are at your shops?

 Thank you all again.

 I've included a couple pictures of my kid, just because I'm

besotted with her.

 I hope you are all having a wonderful summer.
