Hey there,
We're in the final week of our fundraising campaign to produce a feature-length film about our two-year bicycle journey through radical subcultures of the American South, and we're just over 80% of the way to our goal. Thank you to the 87 supporters who have so far contributed to this project. By financing this project directly through our audience, we're able to retain complete creative control and bring you the story as we actually see it, rather than bow to the agenda of a studio or sponsor.
Watch the trailer and support us here: http://www.usaprojects.org/project/america_recycled
These last six days will be the most crucial ones, since if we don't reach our goal the project receives no funding at all. This depends on every person who believes in America Recycled. Since we are recipients of the USA Creative Vision Award, all donations are doubled, and contributors are awarded accordingly. A donation of $25=$50 and gets you a digital copy of the film upon completion AND a beautiful photo print from the project. Of course higher donations receive other fancy things, and all donations are tax deductible.
If everybody who watched one of our videos gave us just a dollar, the entire budget of this movie would be raised and we'd have seed money for the next one. Take a minute to think about what you spend money on throughout your day from a coffee or beer to a movie or concert, and consider how much this project is worth to you. The arts do not fit so neatly into the money economy, so it's up to you to decide how much importance to give them.
If you're unable to donate or already have, reach deep into the back of your mind to think of other people in your life who would be inspired by America Recycled. Choose two or three of them and write them a personal email with a link to the trailer and fundraiser.
Thanks so much for your support over the last two years. We've poured our entire selves into this project, and it's going to show in the feature-length film. We can't wait to bring it to you.
And in celebration of April 1, we have launched a new business in case this doesn't pan out. With the housing market still in a state of uncertainty, we've broken into the igloo racket. Have a look at our new business here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bwMrz4m499E
