My garage is full of bikes in different states of disrepair. Most need tires and tubes, repairs, etc... To the prior owner the cost of the needed repairs outweighed the value and they were discarded. Outside of Walmart (China) where do you buy tubes / tires? How do you prevent a carbon footprint on your consumables?

At bikebike 2 yrs ago, someone made the comment that there should be a bike-collective every eight blocks. I'm inclined to agree. They should be as common as gas stations.
The more critical type of support you may need is a sufficient number of committed volunteers.

Is there such a thing as a listing of Demographics available for Bike Collectives.
I am trying to start one in a small city / rural area in West Virginia. I am trying to understand what characteristics I should focus my research on to tell if my are will support a bike collective.
I look forward to reading your reply.
