Thanks Charlotte!

Our organization is on the Rosebud Reservation, a very rural indigenous community in South Dakota, home of the Sicangu Lakota people.

We'd love to have him visit and speak!

Bikes Not Bombs and Bici-Tec are excited to announce the Advancing Pedal Power Technology Speaking and Teaching Tour!

In Fall 2016, we will invite Carlos Marroquin, a world renowned pedal-power innovator, to North America where he will be traveling to speak and teach about his work. Carlos Marroquin is the owner of Bici-Tec, a social enterprise in Guatemala which operates the School of Appropriate Bici-Technology. The school teaches students from all over the world how to design and build bicimáquinas, or pedal powered machines, within the context of rural, indigenous Guatemala.

Carlos will be speaking about his 15+ years of experience designing bicimáquinas, as well as teaching workshops about this appropriate technology.

If you are interested in having Carlos come speak or lead a workshop at your organization, please email info@bicitec.org for more information!

“If you don’t understand, ask questions. If you’re uncomfortable about asking questions, say you are uncomfortable about asking questions and then ask anyway. It’s easy to tell when a question is coming from a good place. Then listen some more. Sometimes people just want to feel heard. Here’s to possibilities of friendship and connection and understanding.” ― Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Americana
