I have a number of projects on the roster right now, but developing software to enable collectives to share, lend, and rent bikes is on my list so I'll probably be looking for requirements down the road. Don't expect this anytime soon however.
 
Are you running a library or rental system? There is some open-source software out there designed for actual book libraries, there's a chance something like Koha might work for bikes too.
