to shed a bit of light on this. ok, the place that we are holding
the conference is called Pittsburgh filmmakers. they have two
theaters in the building. that weekend, they will be showing the
film "B.I.K.E.," kinda inspired by us, but also because of a local
film dude wanted to bring it to town. we're working out the details
to get conference goers a reduced ticket, but in all reality, it is
only $5. that will probably be running at like 7 or 8 ish.
what we could do afterwards when it gets dark (maybe gotta talk with
some folks) is have a ride that nite to somewhere outdoors where we
can set up a projector (i have one) and we can screen everyone's
movies. if it's raining, we could potentially use one of the large
rooms at filmmakers. i'd rather an outdoor movie thing tho. Friday
nite would make the most sense for this.
so anyway, bring your movies!! we'll work something out.
in addition, we could do what andrew said and have a room where
someone could push play.

shorts from the PDX filmed by bike festival and other collected goodies,
but i personally dont feel able to coordinate a screening aspect due to intense busy-ness problem in the next couple weeks. is it possible to put a call out for people to bring movies if they gottem, and create a bulletin board with timeslots where folks slot in videos and take responsibility for hitting play? it would be a less coordinated/programmed approach, but i thought i would put it out
there as a possible middle ground. ovr&out andrewbaglady wrote:
Hey Rachael, You are more than welcome to show a documentary and tv spot. I was tyring to get someone to organize a mini film fest because one of
the
directors of "still we ride" is also coming and wanted to show the movie. We just need someone to coordinate and try to schedule the movies at different times so that we can put it in the program.
I am
pretty sure that we have a room available to show movies
throoughout the
conference. If that is definite would you be interested in
sending an
email call out for movies and coordinating a schedule of them. the workshops are all divided into 1 1/2 hour blocks. thanks andalu

Hi, I would like to help with the Bike 101 classes, but I can not attend. The good news is we wrote a book about Recycled Bikes and
loaning them
out! It is called "Anybody's Library Bike Book" and is available at www.Lulu.com <http://www.Lulu.com> . The book covers a lot of the subjects you will be
addressing, and some
specific ones about fixing hundreds of bikes, and dealing with hundreds of participants of all stripes! We have loaned out over 4000 bikes, been doing this for over 8 years now! You can check out the book and what we are doing at www.librarybikes.org <http://www.librarybikes.org> . I'll send a flier when I get home, (on bike vacation) and stay tuned for the release of thousands of Public Bikes in Paris! The world is
ready
for a trendy bike lifestyle, I feel it. Bill Burton, Director, LibraryBikes.org p.s. Maybe we can get someone from our group out there to talk about what we have been doing, maybe one of the mechanics for the Bike 101
day. Bill
