In London (and UK in general) there is no recycling of bicycle tyres as the machines used to recycle car tyres here jam up.  In short...they're landfilled as far as I know.  We turn road and hybrid tyres into belts and sell these (or raffle/gift them)

I know that Schwalbe recycle bike tyres in Germany and are considering this in the UK.
If ANYONE has an idea of how to recycle or upcycle MTB or puncture-proof tyres, would love to know ;)
