One way to use some of the tires, even punctured tubes, is to make wallets out of them. Don't laugh - a sewing machine and a pop rivet gun can create some fairly nifty money holders. Check out www.instructables.com and search for "wallet." They have some great plans and these could be tailored to sell at a collective or through some of the bike shops in your area with proceeds going to support the cause.
