[TheThinkTank] Freehub database

a few people brought up 'Freehub' database application (i believe developed at the bike kitchen?) in various contexts at BikeBike. Does anyone know how to get any more info on it?

Is it free? does it require a dedicated server? is it modular? is it web-based? what is it useful for?
