During each Open Shop and class, we verbally and blatantly ask for donations. We make it a part of other announcements, we try to make it fun. We give people options: a donation box, a mail-in donation card for checks, an online option and via credit card using Square. We give people a basic guideline ("For profit shops charge $5 per hour and they don't provide assistance by staff or volunteers" )..............Sheldon MainsSPOKES Bike Walk Connect program of Cycles for ChangeMinneapolis, MN 612/618-7149Three ways to donate to SPOKES:1. We just have a simple box with some boring laminated signage, and I'm wondering if anyone has eyecatching, creative, or clever ways of getting members to actually stop, think, and donate a little more often? We have a $5 lifetime membership, and parts are largely by donation, but the box itself goes largely unused, and our volunteers and members end up putting it in the cash box more often than the actual donation boxLet me know, send photos, whatever you wish! Thanks,La Bikery
