Want to learn how to produce a pedal powered machine that can help pump well- water? Want to learn how appropriate technology can be applied to help rural families better profit from their harvest? Motivated to take classroom knowledge and apply it to the real world?

We are excited to announce the School of Appropriate Bici- Technology an eight-week course in the context, application, and manufacturing of bicimáquinas (pedal-powered machines) in San Andres Itzapa, Guatemala. International and local Guatemalan students will study side-by-side while Carlos Marroquin, a world leader in pedal-powered technology, leads this hands-on course in designing and manufacturing pedal-powered machines.

Scholarships are now available for students from lower and middle income countries to study at the School of Appropriate Bici-Technology.

We are now accepting applications through April 20th for this exciting program. The course runs from June 8th to July 31st. Students will learn about the context of appropriate technology in the Global South, the basics of bike machine mechanics and design. Interested in finding out more?
