Hi,

I might have time to add this to freehub and Alon (freehub's maintainer) has had this request before
https://github.com/asalant/freehub/issues/21#issuecomment-142455472

For organizations that want a sign-out what do you want to happen if the person is never signed-out?  You could have shop opening hours and auto-sign out everyone at close but that wouldn't help if volunteers were helping out of hours or stayed an extra hour after closing.  Already that is beginning to add quite a bit of work, any thoughts on how this part should work simply (ideally on github)?

I started trying to upgrade Freehub to Rails 3 (or even a more modern ruby) but it is a lot of work and I don't really have much time.  If there were more people that would contribute if it was on rails 3 (or even 4) then that would help motivate me.

Hi Jesse,

As part of Positive Spin's project to determine which software would best fit our needs, Docker demos were created from all known existing F/OSS community bike shop software, and are available at http://bikebike.wvcompletestreets.org .

We have been happily using YBDB.  This software program is configurable, people can opt-in to our mailing list, it allows us to export transaction data to our accounting program, and it is stable.  More importantly, it just works, and is simple for people to learn how to use.

I am looking forward to adding Andrew Shooner's application to the demos once he releases the source code.

Hey Folks!

It's been a couple of years since I first asked about a database / software for sign ins and stuff.

Has there been any progress on this front for any shops out there yet?
We are interested in Freehub but we need for people to be able to sign out to accurately track hours, something which Freehub doesn't do.

Can anyone give us (our community bikes) leads on applications that can allow sign ins / outs, and take info like name, email, whether or not they want to be emailed, dates, exporting data sheets, distinguish between staff / volunteer / member or other categories we deem we need, etc?

Or is anyone able to make a "Freehub" that has in addition to everything a sign out option?

 help?

 Hey Folks!

So at Our Community Bikes in Vancouver, we're thinking it's time to set up a proper sign in / sign out system, combined with a membership and volunteer database.

Ideally we would like to know what software is out there that can track people coming in and using our space, a simple laptop or desktop kiosk where folks can type in info, and it would enter our database.

Also to serve as a database that members can register into, and again wherein volunteers can sign up, and log their hours, and tasks accomplished.

 sooo.. any ideas?
