At Plan B in New Orleans we are open year round given our temperate climate. We usually take a 2-3 week break at the end of August through labor day or a week after (prime hurricane season - the city is empty and it's way too hot to even think, much less wrench).
Winter is actually our busiest season, with temperatures in the 50's-70's, for the most part.
If you ever want to come down for a balmy winter break, come see us!

One of our goals is to be known as the commuter bike shop in town. We believe that cycling and bike commuting are year round activities.
We'll keep busy with open shop, Earn-A-Bike, classes, retail, workshops, building sale bikes, meetings and shop set up.Our Fall/Winter hours are Noon-6p.m. everyday except Wednesdays.

In warmer months, we have Open Shop 3 days a week - Wed/Thurs 6-8pm and Sat 12-4pm. Once the snow flies, we change that to Open Shop on Saturdays and Closed Shop on Wed/Thurs 6-8pm. Closed Shop is just for the volunteers and lets us fix up the bikes we've collected over the warmer months, work on building repairs, and the like.
