I cross reference w craigslist and eBay. I add value to our higher level of service and/or cost of shipping the bike too. 
But what will really peg the sales price of your inventory is what other shops are selling used bikes for.

when i started volunteering this policy had long been established - i never gave it much thought but there's probably room for improvement!
