Something that was brought up to me recently was actually a whole reconsideration of the language of "safer spaces," the argument being that the concern with safety and anti-violence in conflict emerge from WASPy social norms and recenter White values as desirable outcomes in conflict. I haven't done much reading/thinking about this yet, but it's compelling for sure.
Our website is under construction, but our safer spaces policy will likely be up there within the next few weeks: pedalpower.org

I like to call it a "safer space agreement" because "safer" implies that it is something we must continuously work on, and "agreement" means that everyone in the shop is a participant in the safer space.

In prep for bike month a group of us are thinking about having a safe ride statement for our group/social rides something akin to a safe space policy. Does anyone have one that I could take a look at? Thanks a ton!
