"Why is Rich doing this? I'm doing this because it's an easy thing we can all do to promote each other on the web. By having links to similar sites the search engines give our site more credibility and move us up in the search results. It also shows our site visitors we are part of a larger movement to get people on bikes.

Case in point, our "Urban Bike Project" receives top google listing, the
ambiguous "Urban Bike" still lists in top 3, and "Bike Wilmington" is top 5,
despite the city of Wilmington being shared by both Delaware and North
Carolina. When we first started out, if you didn't type in "Urban Bike
Project of Wilmington" you'd still be searching.
Therefore.....individual organizations should add the Links page Rich
created to their websites, *in addition to* updating the Wiki to get maximum
exposure.
