Greetings,
Longtime viewer, first time poster :)
In response to some questions about an Earn A Bike Program / Nonprofit Bike Shop in Washington D.C., I wanted to let you know that Gearin' Up Bicycles is getting ready to open in Northeast D.C. at the beginning of April. Gearin' Up is a nonprofit (501c3) community used bike shop, and we will be offering EAB programs as well as running a workforce development program that re-purposes donated used bicycles. If anyone out there is reading this in the D.C. area and is interested in getting involved, please contact me at KatieLupo@GearinUpBicycles.org. For more info about the shop, check out the website at www.GearinUpBicycles.org http://www.gearinupbicycles.org/ and be sure to 'like' us on Facebook!
The others in the area are like everyone said: Phoenix Bikes http://www.phoenixbikes.org/ (nonprofit bike shop in Arlington) Velocity http://velocitycoop.org/ (Coop in Alexandria) The Bike House http://www.thebikehouse.coop/ (Coop in D.C.)
