We also use an online registration form - our site is built with drupal and the form module was super easy to figure out (for a non web-developer).

so far the spambots have been thwarted by reCaptcha (box with crazy characters), which is free, can be inserted easily into the form, and helps digitize old texts at the same time.

here's the link if you want to see what questions, etc. we ask - http://www.phoenixbikes.org/en/volunteer/register

Hi there my name is Rafael, with the Bike Co-op in Fort Collins, CO we have this on-line thingy in our website and it works awesome ! we used to do paper ones too but this is so much more manageable and trackable.... just very available and handy !

So far the only down side is occasional spam from robots filling them out and submitting every once in a while;( Viagra anyone ? ) our mighty webmaster is working on some solution to this such as that box with the characters you're supposed to re-type or whatever, since only the human eye can do that ( or so they say, who knows, really )

Anyhoos, just click on the link at the bottom of this e-mail and go to " volunteers ", hope it helps some.

Best of luck with your growing Bike project.

Greetings from the Rocky Mountains !

Hey,

Does anyone have a volunteer application they'd be willing to share?
Pedals2People is finally seeing a lot of interest from possible
volunteers, and we feel like we should have a more formal process for
new folks. Before, it was all friends-of-friends showing up, but now
we're actually growing (yay!) and meeting many new people. If there's
a helpful application out there, please send it my way!

Thanks,
Liza
