Remember to throw out helmets that are three years old. There is a sticker inside that tells the date it was made. The foam is an uncured plastic, as it cures it get harder and does not absorb energy thus allowing the brain to accelerate into the scull. One can cure a helmet in one day by storing it in a hot car.  Replace your helmet as it ages and Protect your helmets from heat and they will protect your brain better

We recently got around 80 kid-sized helmets donated from the Tony Hawk Foundation. (http://tonyhawkfoundation.org/) I think just contact them explaining what you're doing, where the helmets will be going, etc. They'll probably be happy to help!

Don't forget helmets, too :)

Our local school district wants to purchase about 20 bikes that can be used for children in 2nd, 3rd and 4th grades. We're looking for recommendations of particular bikes to purchase. We're thinking strong, workhorse bikes that are comfortable and easy to ride and will require little to no maintenance. Almost like a children's bike share bike but without all the weight.

Likewise, we're also considering purchasing some Strider bikes, to help teach children who don't know how to ride, but we also think that we can probably just take the pedals off of the bikes that we do buy.

Any suggestions, recommendations and feedback are greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
