we have opened registration for BIKE!BIKE! Southeast! the conference is
geared toward southeastern community shops, but we would love anyone to
come, especially those willing to bottomline a workshop. there are many
fledgling organizations opening up in the southeast who could learn a lot
from people from established organizations. we have 3 locations for
workshops, Krank It Up, Bread and Roses Food Coop and the 1200 Stearns
street housing coop. all are within blocks of one another. we will be
providing food and housing along with a few bike rides(swimming!) a
probably a dance party one night.
right now we are spreading the word, so if you are interested in coming or
know of any shops or interested people in the southeast or otherwise who
would benefit from the conference, please refer them to the Bike!Bike!
Southeast <https://www.bikebike.org/conferences/Tallahassee2014/view> site
and register for the conference.
thanks a lot and we hope to see you soon!

> hey all--

here at RUBARB in new orleans, we LOVE having visitors.  especially ones
that are mechanics, like hanging out with youth, are helpful, etc..
there's always a place to crash at my house and a lot of work at RUBARB to
be done.

so other than being a plug to visit us in new orleans!, i definitely want
to support this great idea of having community bike shop folks visiting
other community bike shop folks!

thanks,
liz of RUBARB (Rusted Up Beyond All Recognition Bikes)
www.rubarbike.org

ps.  THANKS to all the enthusiasm, energy and positive vibes that
bike!bike! brought to new orleans, and especially our little shop in the
9th ward.  it definitely was a huge boost for us, and we appreciated
everyone who walked through our doors (and played in our streets!).

I general have summers off and would be against bumming around in a different city and doing some wrenching. It would be ideal to find some kind of temp service job to cover expenses and such but it may be doable. I don't know about summers in NO though.

The site lists the 17th as the end date twice. Do we know what date for
sure?
