the commercial units I have seen on line have a set of essential tools attached to the work stand with aircraft cable.  I am sure that Dakota could weld the cable to the tools.  Lexco or maybe some company closer could make up single loop cable to measure and Dakota could do the rest.  Lexco specializes in making security cables in house.  Call Lexco at 800-626-6556 and ask for Denise Carrera.  She can advise you.  You will have to open a cash account there.  You will have to decide on the best diameter of cable.  Flexibility vs security, you know.  A feature that I like is that an air pump is integrated into the workstand structure.  An alternative is to have the tools drilled out and the cables passed through and crimped down.  then one would have double looped cables with tools attached.  Possible to buy a length of cable and crimps and make yore own too.

we are looking to (re)build an outdoor tool station.  are there any good example of this?  with pictures?    this is for during shop hours (not necessarily all the time), so it would be great if tools could be easily removed and then put back... but secure.
