Yes, google "recycle bike inner tubes" for other ideas! There are some nice looking messenger bags out there.
What about old tires? I've seen ideas for door mats and fenders -- does anyone use them for anything?
Thanks!!

Splaff (a post-consumer tire/tube clothing, etc mamufacturer) used to pay shipping for boxes of slime-free tubes. Don't know if they still do. This was ~10 years ago. I'm certain there are more companies doing similar work now.

When we get a large enough load, we fill up a truck and drive down to CRM in south Los Angeles.
There's probably somewhere more carbon effective that you could deliver closer to VT.

We do the same as Mary, and always leave a few tubes in every size to be patched by folks looking for a free tube or a work trade opportunity.
...which still leaves us with about 98% of our old tubes to send to recycling. =(

I cut them up into 1/2" strips, so that I have tiny little rubber bands. They're great for attaching streamers to bicycle handles.

Could the think tank tell me what you/they do with old tire tubes? I'm in northeast VT, far from anywhere. Thanks for ideas, Beth
