I disagree, cyclista Nicholas. The Open Shop Facilitator is both people manager and mechanic. Furthermore, the OSF does not have the luxury of putting aside a repair should it be difficult, not in their experience or because there may not be enough time. Trying to solve multiple simultaneous problems on-the-spot while other people (clients/customers) are watching always adds stress and complication. I bet that the folks at the Bicycle Collective are best at determining what pay scales work best for their organization, they've been doing that for nearly 20 years.

$17 an hour for the Open Shop Facilitator vs. $14 an hour for a mechanic whose list of duties is longer, more strenuous, more complicated, and more specialized? Maybe think about rebalancing those roles and rates. That disparity is bizarre.
