[TheThinkTank] weaving with tubes - rivets

has anyone worked with tubes and some kind of rivets or grommets and have suggestions as to what to use to attach a tube to itself (around a bar)... imagine if you were creating a weave for a trailer bed, or "re-apolstering' a lawn chair.
