From what I remember there was a reserve close to Calgary that was thinking about starting up their own diy shop, I think it was on the Tsuu T'ina Nation. I might be able to get in touch with these folks if I ask around a little if it would help.
Where in Canada are you? What exactly is the community you're trying to reach out to?

I am in Canada, and am helping First Nations ('Native') communities to become aware of the benefits of community bicycle shops, especially regarding skills development among kids.
Does anyone on this list have experience with such communities? I'd like to share ideas and experience.
