.. and from what we've experienced here in Vancouver is not only the gentrification of spaces with bike lanes (sadly), is also the affluent, white, aging out neighbourhoods fighting bike routes and lanes in their very upscale properties. The common tag line is " bike lanes bring crime into our community " for no real reason. No imperical data to support this.

 on the other hand there is lots of data regarding white bike lanes contributing to gentrifying communities with many different access barriers.

We just got a book that is called "Gentrifier" of John Joe Schlichtman, Jason Patch, Marc Lamont Hill, Peter Marcuse. We just started it yesterday and is anyone is interested once we finish reading it will comment on it.
