We are open twice weekly: Open-shop - Wednesdays 6:30-8 - open to the public, we have tools, stands and helpful volunteers and you have a willingness to do what you can and learn Volunteer-shop - Sundays 5-8 - fixing donation bikes that will be sold inexpensively to support the organization, good time to learn
Most of our open times drag on an hour or so beyond the official time, but we like to keep the official close time early just in case we're tried!
We don't have any bike sales in our workshop; we do all sales in events.
We also do a mobile workshop, Thursday 12-2 - offering free minor repairs and referrals.
Lastly, we are based at an university so this guides much of activity. For example, we have sales at the beginning of each semester and limit sales to students (the university gives us free rent on such conditions). But we are totally open to the public.

Hi,
Joel Gillespie from The Bike Project of Urbana-Champaign, Illinois, here. We're looking at re-vamping our shop hours schedule, and I'm trying to gather some information from other collectives on how many hours you're open to the public and/or members each week. Also, if you have specific uses for any of those hours, like sales-only, or just for structured repair classes, etc., please point that out if you could. Any thoughts or insights you could share (on- or off-list) would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
