FIX BIKES IN AFRICA
The organizers of Tour d'Afrique, an annual expedition ride/race going
7,400 miles from Cairo, Egypt, to Cape Town, South Africa, are
searching for a good mechanic to support next year's ride. While
preventative bike maintenance and cleaning are up to the individual
riders, the mechanic will be responsible for fixing participants'
bicycles, from simple tune-ups to more complex repairs. The fleet of
bikes involved will represent a wide range of countries of
origin--so, according to the job announcement, "compatibility with
parts and tools will require improvisation and resourcefulness." The
2010 ride takes place from January 16 through May 15. Click on the
