Boise Bicycle Project, Hiring Shop Operations Manager and Prison Program Coordinator.
We've got two very exciting and impactful positions to fill at the Boise Bicycle Project and hope a few of you out there might be interested. Check out the job posting and videos below for more info about the positions. I hope to be talking to some of you soon.
*Shop Operations Manager: http://www.boisebicycleproject.org/shop-operations-manager* In 2017 BBP's team of dedicated volunteers and staff put over 1700 bicycles back onto the streets of Boise, including 800 to kids in our programs. We have 600 active members using the shop on a regular basis and another 1400 folks who use the shop as "walk/ride-ins." We have 14 staff members (5 full time) that operate our programs and foster an empowering and educational atmosphere to the Boise community and beyond regardless of income. The Shop Operations Manager oversees the daily activities that make all of the above possible for our community members, and the sales that provide funding for our programs. This is a big job with a lot of responsibility and limitless potential for impact. Full time with full benefits. See full *job posting* http://www.boisebicycleproject.org/shop-operations-manager for all of the details. See *this video* https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D-v5vS-03gk for a little more about BBP.
*Shifting Gears Coordinator: http://www.boisebicycleproject.org/shifting-gears-coordinator* The Shifting Gears program is the BBP’s partnership program with the Idaho Department of Corrections. Shifting Gears teaches bicycle mechanics to incarcerated individuals and provides free adult bikes to program participants upon release. The program provides inmates with vocational skills, impactful opportunities, and community connection. Shifting Gears currently operates at the South Boise Women’s Correctional Center, partners with the East Boise Re-Entry Center at the BBP, and is starting a program at the Idaho State Men's Correctional Center. This is a 25-30 hour a week position, but we would consider full time hours for the right candidate. See full *job posting* http://www.boisebicycleproject.org/shifting-gears-coordinator for all of the details. See *this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Knf-1AAqrU* about our program at the South Women's Facility. Or *this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZeZM0xzOyCc* about our new program at the Women's East ReEntry Center.
