Sources for inexpensive bike lights?
Hello fellow bicycle do-gooders,
I need to order a large quantity of inexpensive bike lights to use as giveaways with bicycle we provide to youth as part of our program. Does anyone have suggestions for a good source of inexpensive lights? There seem to be a million suppliers on the internet, and I don't want to end up with something dodgy. Thanks for reading!

We use J&B's brand, sunlite and choose one of the cheapest versions. You definitely get what you pay for, so it's pretty hard to find a cheap light that is reliable. We end up returning 10-25% of them because they're defective.

I've been purchasing these:
http://www.fasttech.com/products/0/10000977/1081100-2-led-3-mode-white-red-l...
3.66 per pair, and they almost always work unlike the ones we purchase through our regular supplier.
You can save a dollar per set (~2.72 per pair) if you order pairs of red and pairs of white lights, and then get volunteers to repackage the lights once you receive them.

I order them in about quantities of 40 and haven't ever had any taxes or duties on it. There's no shipping fee ever, so you can place as many small or big orders as you like. My only concern with placing a larger order in one package would be if it started to look like importing goods.
You can save money if you're doing a much larger order (thousands) and are willing to figure out how to import things, but that's too much for us. Also, I think it's probably easier in the States than up here to find the companies to handle imports/large volume purchases than it is up here.

I just picked up a pair of these for myself - 90 cents each, free shipping, and they look identical to the ones that Christopher posted above. I'm not sure how well they work (or even if batteries are included), but if anyone's interested I can post an update in this thread once they arrive. Several others on eBay sell the same lights at similar prices.
