Shop Liability Insurance- who are you using these days?
Hi all,
We at the Durham Bike Co-op are on the market for a new shop liability insurance carrier to cover our assets, our volunteers, and their assets. What carrier have you had good success with? Who should we avoid?
And to those shops that don't carry it, holy crap, I totally suggest you should. We recently had a patron's health insurance company come after us because of an accident on our premises, and saved us a good amount of hassle by having our insurance deal with it.

At Bike Bike, there was a workshop where BeeHive Insurance was discussed, and details were put out on a thread here soon thereafter.
Allegedly, a woman there was working up a plan to work specifically with Community Bike Shops, which sounded appealing to us, but I havent looked into it yet.

Susan Smith, at Beehive insurance, does an excellent job of providing our coverage at a decent rate for all 5 locations in UT and is interested in coming up with different options for different co-ops and collectives. Her email (cc'd), is ssmith@beehiveinsurance.com

Hi all,
Just want to share that Susan Smith @ Beehive Insurance has just finished helping us update our insurance coverages for our bike advocacy organization and community bikeshop....this means coverage for everything from organized rides, to valet services, to bikeshop activities, plus property and Director's & Officers Liability... It was a big effort and she was an amazing resource, very patient and clear!
If you need a quick quote, Susan has set up a page specifically for bike collectives who are shopping for insurance. Here's the address: http://beehiveinsurance.com/bicycle-collective-quote/
Also, If anyone knows how to add this info to the wiki, I'm all ears
