save all bikes please!
we have new designs for 3-wheel 2-seaters using kids' huffys. several styles of trailers, long johns, and also a pedal bus- greatly utilizing old bike frames. Free Cycles is keeping our 2,000 ft community shop, and expanding with a 6,000 sq ft fabrication warehouse 3 doors down.
please do not recycle any frames. we will take them. broken or bent. just not rust. or you keep them, save them, and re-use!
if you cannot re-use, we can figure a way to get them here- hot air balloon, steam ship, e-train, somehow.

Hello! I'd love to see the designs for the two seaters. My NGO is looking for a rustic "ambulance" solution for home health care workers in small villages in Zambia and the Congo. We're also attempting a stationary bike generator project to charge cell phones for income generating projects in Zambia, if anyone has any information about this sort of thing. THANKS! Hello Michelle,
You may know of this already but there is an organization called Disacare that makes bicycle trailer ambulances. You can find contact and other info here: http://www.disacare.org.zm/
This does not answer your question exactly as it is not a stationary charger for multiple phones but, there is a company in Zambia called Global Cycle Solutions who make an inexpensive, < $10. equivalent, cell phone charger that can charge your phone while you ride and who have some distribution in Zambia. You can find them on the web also.

Disacare in Lusaka builds these ambulances: http://cadlab6.mit.edu/bike.ambulance/ I helped design them a few years back. Check out BenNambia http://www.benbikes.org.za/namibia/ too. Aaron Weiler built some ambulances out there a while back.

Bob,
Sounds like you have some awesome designs! Could you share them with us, perhaps? Shipping them to Montana seems like an inefficient approach for those of us way out here in Davis, but we'd love to build some innovative stuff from our old frames.
Thanks! -Darin Wick
