Any shops out there using Volgistics for volunteer management? http://www.volgistics.com/0-0.htm
We could use some help setting it up.

my social service agency (not bike related) uses it. it's very sophisticated and thorough and if you're just looking to keep track of volunteers, you might be better off using something else. i think you can get a free trial and check out the services for a while w/ no commitment. i know the recyclery Chicago uses something that a a local volunteer created. contact folsk there to see fi they can give you that program. very basic volutneer tracking/orientation.

For us I think Volgistics is going to be a great tool to manage volunteers, Earn-A-Bikers, Community service, high level volunteers, memberships, special events and more. There's a bit of a learning curve but I can see it's going to bring us up the the next level of sophistication.

perfect. then volgistics sounds right for you. it tracks everything, quick announcements and merging to email accounts to send mass announcements, reminders, YTD volunteer hours and how that would convert to a $ contribution, etc. if you have specific questions, i can contact my volunteer coordinator and she can answer anything you might need. otherwise, i have had solid performance for remaining up to date with 150 annual volunteers.

Bici Centro (bicicentro.org) is using Wild Apricot (wildapricot.com). From looking at the specs, it seems Volgistics will excel at volunteer management but lacks WA's member management features.
Here is our current tech stew:
- Wild Apricot website (Bici Centro)
- freehub (freehub.bikekitchen.org) and Volunteer Spot (volunteerspot.com)
for additional volunteer management
- Quickbooks POS for sales tracking
- Quickbooks for bookkeeping
- Constant Contact for email newsletter (because the WA email blasts aren't
as feature-rich)
In addition, there is little clear distinction between us and our parent advocacy nonprofit (sbbike.org). We share funds, events, educational programming, members, and volunteers. But "they" maintain a separate website, mailing list, and newsletter, all with another set of tech tools, some at additional cost.
I'd love to have one system with one database that does everything, am trying to move in that direction over time.
