We built new benches when we moved two years ago.
We shadow board all tools and colour code them to the bench. Makes putting
things away easy for people new to the shop. All five benches have the same
tools and layout.
Holes in the side of the bench for penetrant, degreaser, etc. Screw drivers
are also in the bench which people have a hard time finding.
Pretty pretty with how these work for us!

Jane,
You did it as it usually is done. You post the job description and the
means of submission. Essentially you're inviting anyone on the list to
apply, or anticipating that they will put the word out to qualified
people they know who might not be on the list.
