Our shop (in Canada, mind you) has still not even incorporated, and we are about 5 years old. We have pretty cheap rent, and a decent pool of volunteers, so we don't need to rely on grants. YMMV.

Hi all--

I'm headed to Beijing in February, and I'm wondering if anyone
knows of a
bike collective/community bike shop operating in the city.  I'm
guessing
that China--as with so many non-North American places--has a
social contract
that doesn't produce community bike shops.  Still, please let me
know if you
have any bike contacts in Beijing or you know about interesting
programs in
the city.
