I have volunteered mostly at two bike collectives. They have both had fires. One was a spontaneous rag fire that put the entire shop out of commission for an entire summer (good thing they had just done an inventory; insurance needed that information), and the other was apparently a fire in the metal recycling.
Keep a serious eye on potential flammables!

Do you know what kind of chemicals they were using that spontaneously ignited?
Most greases/lubes in bike shops aren't drying oils prone to this kind of combustion (as opposed to things like linseed oil).

I have no idea what caught fire in each situation. All I know is that 100% of the bike collectives I have been most involved with have caught fire.
Keep potential flammables in a flammables cabinet, keep rags and recyclables in fireproof containers. Consider yourselves warned!
