Bike Magazines at the Dentist
Bike Enthusiasts, About a year ago I was sitting in the waiting room of my dentist sifting through the array of magazines they have, you know the type; Mademoiselle, Good Housekeeping, Time, People...
I thought it'd be a good idea to get bikes in the mix of info and gave a subscription of Bike and Bicycle magazines. This cost me $30 for the two one year subscriptions. I just renewed the Bike subscription for two years for $20.
It's a small gift that helps get bicycles on the minds of more people.
Next time you're in a waiting room have a look at the magazine offerings
and consider adding bikes to the mix.
Ride On!
Our cycling gang has a regular Sunday dinner at a pho (Vietnamese
noodle soup) place. One fellow has a monthly order of Momentum
magazines (http://www.momentumplanet.com/) for his shop, and he
always brings an extra box along for distribution. We always leave
some in the restaurant's book / magazine shelf, and a few folks also
drop some off at the Library and other non-bike shop places. Waiting
rooms would indeed be a good idea.
Oh, and I should say that there's nothing like a friendly local
restaurant that allows indoor bike parking! :) (though the
tallbikes don't fit through the door very well...)
