we had a solvent tank for years, but no one felt very good about using it and so one day we got rid of it. no one misses that thing, and i swear the air quality in the back of the shop is better. rags, clean green or what have you, and a little elbow grease seems to do the trick.

sidebar: i have a friend who throws his drive trains in the dishwasher at home once or twice a year. swears he always does a ghost load after the fact.
