Hey all, I don't know if it's your custom to do an intro email, but here goes! I'm a bike anthropologist who is now the Equity Initiative Manager at the League of American Bicyclists. I've been involved in bikey stuff in Los Angeles, Seattle, and Portland, and I moved to D.C. for this job in November. My academic and activist projects focus on showing the impact grassroots energy can (and should) have on bike planning and policy, so I figured it was high time I joined this listserv. On that note, the League is currently gathering responses for its annual survey (link: http://survey.constantcontact.com/survey/a07e8keg6w9hoacdlzu/start). It's for members and non-members, and we're trying to get feedback from as wide a pool as possible. My apologies if you've already been getting this link from other people! It'd be great to get more bike collective voices heard at the League. Also, the Equity Advisory Council, the panel of experts building the League's Equity Initiative, is currently accepting applications for an open seat (link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/eac-nominee-form). The application closes this Friday. If you want to know more about my work or the equity stuff happening at the League, feel free to email me at this address or at adonia@bikeleague.org. Thanks! Stacking on here, How fast are cars? My last car was kinda fast, i went 11 miles an hour. It was an '84 Honda Civic i got 55 MPG, by turning it off when ever i could. The auto club's (AAA) cost for driving a car is on average $9000 per year. How long does take to earn the money one spends to make your car move? Add that number to your driving time and see your speed go way down. Time is not money Money is time Send your time carefully
