Hi all,
In Santa Barbara, our EAB programs consist of 18 hours of instruction
taught by a certified League Cycling Instructor and a TA.
They are offered in different schools as an after-school program to 12-16
yo students (1h30 twice a week for 6 weeks).
We teach basic bike mechanics (fix a flat, adjust brakes, derailleur) and
we follow the curriculum from the League of American Bicyclists for
teaching riding skills (it was previously called Kids 2: it is basically
Traffic Skills 101 adapted for youth).
The first 2/3 weeks, depending on the group, are spent on the blacktop
where students practice handling skills, review the rules of the road and
become better riders. The last 2/3 weeks, we take the group on the streets.

about the success of our EAB programs (called Pedal Power)
