I modified a dual-head Park stand to be power lift, inspired by some mods and custom builds I'd seen on the internet, and one I saw in person in Portland a long time ago. Mine works more or less perfectly. You must sacrifice a few inches of height, however, for the telescoping mechanic to function correctly. You want the clamp to be low enough that you don't have to lift bikes into it (or lift them minimally), but tall enough that it's a generally confortable working height. Taller mechanics might not be satisfied.

I've shared this mod/design with Park Tool in hopes they might be able to benefit from matketing an aftermarket kit based on the idea.
