i got this from a wonderful bike activist/blogger/zinester/advocate who some of you probably know. I'm not able to go to this event this year, but it sounds pretty amazing. I guess it doesn't normally happen in North America, so if you can make it this year, it might be the last year it's here for a while.

Someone just reminded me that the Velo City conference next year is in
Vancouver BC -- it isn't usually in North America, so that rules. They're accepting proposals, and their theme this year is spotlighting communities that are doing a lot of work to get people on bikes. I noticed on tour that in some of the unlikely places where biking is just starting to get big fast there's a bike project at the heart of it all. I'd *love* to see more representation at this giant, important conference for a) bike projects and b) the places where they're making magic happen. Also, it could be a good place to network and meet potential allies. Anyway, if you want to pass the link along your secret bike project bat channels, it is:
