The Toronto team has finalized the dates for Bike!Bike! 2010:
Thursday August 12 - Sunday August 15 (This includes a Friday the 13th so be prepared for a cursed event that night!)
Our partners at the University of Toronto's Bike Chain ( http://bikechain.utoronto.ca/) are working to book space on campus, which will be amazing - beautiful, historic buildings, green space and centrally located.
We are also thinking about a theme for this year. My vote is kittens. If you have a better idea please submit!
We will keep you posted. Bike love!

Hey Everyone, especially those in the Northeast, Toronto, NY, etc.
I'm looking into our travel plans for August. I wasn't all that familiar with the geography of the northeast, but I found something interesting.
Flights from Denver to Toronto are around $500 round trip. Flights from Denver to Buffalo, NY are about 300 round trip. I'm guessing that getting from Buffalo to Toronto and back is going to be less than $200. Is there ground transportation--train, light rail--that's an easy trip from one to the other?
Also, for those of us not familiar with Toronto, is there one airport that's better than another for flying into for Bike!bike!?
Thanks again. We're all getting very excited.
josh.

Bike! You could bring your bike and bike from Buffalo to Toronto! It would be awesome.
Cost of bringing a bike + food for the ride = probably cheaper than flying into Toronto and way more fun.

Many a Torontonian surface-routes it to Buffalo and flies from there. Options include bus (no monopoly so shop around!), train (again both American and Canadian options so you can shop around), car (if you're a group of six, say) or bike. We do it because it avoids customs airport chaos when people try to mess with airline schedules, for one thing. There is also a fairly significant airport fee at Pearson (the large airport). As for geography there's the escarpment but if you've got a selection of gears you'll be fine.
