Youth Programs Curriculum & Adults-working-with-youth training
Hi everyone,
This is Carlyn from BICAS in Tucson, AZ. I have been trying to dig through old Think Tank threads to see about youth riding club curriculum, on-bike games, fun skills practice, etc, for younger youth--grades 2-4. Would y'all be willing to share and/or direct me to past threads where this has been discussed?
We have a really dynamic partnership right now with a youth center and would like to keep building on our program there. Would be happy to swap ideas & lessons. =)
Also, do any of you do any kind of training for adults working with youth? If so, I would LOVE to see it! Any kind of trainings about youth engagement, respecting/elevating youth voices, recognizing & combating ageism, mentoring skills/expectations, making space for youth choices/leadership, etc.
Thanks in advance!
Sincerely, ~Carlyn Arteaga BICAS Collective Member/Youth Programs www.bicas.org
Hi Carlyn and everyone
We created a curriculum that is online and down-loadable for free ( or you can order a printed version through our webstore) it includes games and all kinds of activities geared around the Earn-a-Bike classroom setting that would also be helpful in riding programs. I hope this helps

We take a lot of our training for Youth Programs staff from the Youth Program Quality initiative curriculum– they have a great module on Youth Voice and other topics that are relevant in the Youth Development realm. I could share more with you if you are interested
