BikeBike! ? - Any new news?
Hey all,
This morning I find myself really missing my bike bike friends. I wasn't able to make the one in 2019 and then, well, 2020 was a no go.
Any news on plans for 2021? Virtual?
we could have it be really informal. Use the BikeBike website to post a topic and instead of a location, it would be a zoom room.
Just thinking of you all and wishing you the best wherever you are.
Best, -Momoko
Angel York is working on just such an initiative. She did send out an email with the subject line "Virtual BIKE! BIKE! interest survey " on April 18, but I am copying the contents below, please fill out her survey: I have never made it to a Bike! Bike! because I try to keep a motor minimalist traveling radius. But the Bici! Bici!s I went to in California were most excellent, I can only imagine how much fun Bike! Bike! is.
So this year, my partner (Darin Wick) and I (Angel York) are offering to host an online Bike! Bike!! Now! With a smaller carbon footprint!!! I know I haven't been active here on the Think Tank for a while, so here's my wiki page https://www.bikecollectives.org/wiki/index.php?title=User:Angel if you're newer and curious about me.
*Please fill out this interest survey before 8am on May 1*:*
*https://www.cognitoforms.com/MotorMinimalism1/BikeBike2021InterestForm https://www.cognitoforms.com/MotorMinimalism1/BikeBike2021InterestForm*
I am also happy to share the results (minus contact info) with anyone who is curious.
Thanks, Angel
*(original deadline was midnight April 30 but I won't be awake at midnight)
Angel, I suggest extending the deadline, it looks like not everyone observed your post.

Hi all,
It has been confirmed. There is unanimous interest. 27/27 respondents want to attend an online bike!bike!, which I've started calling *Bike!Bike! Everywhere! 2021*.
We're going to spend the weekend combing through the survey results and will let you know more on Tuesday, at which point I'll also put out a more formal call for presenters and facilitators.
If you already offered to help on the interest form, I will email you some time in the next week.
YAY BIKE!BIKE!

Unrelated: Three cheers for Jonathan Rosenbaum! *Six years* ago, I was like, "hey, can you manually approve new wiki users [to keep out spambots]?" and Jonathan has been tirelessly doing it ever since.

This is great! I think an online event will be an exciting opportunity for everyone to "gather" together in a way we have never been able to before :)
I'm curious if this will be actively organized by the Mexico City team (our intended "next hosts") or if this will be an open collaboration for whomever has the time and skills to organize digitally?

Hi all! Honestly I missed the survey, but I'm down to jump on a virtual Bike!Bike!
I'm from Mexico City and don't know the people that were organizing the 2020 event :(, but I'll try to get a hold of the regular attendees of past Bike!Bike's and maybe get some things rolling over here?
Big hugs to everyone! Hope you're all safe and well.

I am going through the list of people who expressed interest in helping organize this year's online Bike!Bike! as we speak. I am operating under the assumption that Bike!Bike! Everywhere is an open collaboration for whomever has the time and skills to organize digitally.
There are about a billion tasks that need to happen between now and Bike!Bike! Everywhere!, so if you're interested in organizing digitally and didn't mention it in the interest survey, drop me an email and let's make this happen!
Thanks, Angel
PS - Ainsley, I sent you a direct email in response to your survey result before I saw this email that you sent to the Think Tank. Ok, now back to poring over the interest survey results!
PPS - Jim, any chance you know of any community bike shops that aren't on this list https://www.bikecollectives.org/wiki/Community_Bicycle_Organizations#Mexico and should be? I am going through and gathering emails for every community bike org on that page, to let them know about Bike!Bike! Everywhere! 2021.

Can someone please provide a quick overview of Bike!Bike!Everywhere! I’m working with a group in Florida trying to get them restarted and revitalized. they might be interested if I knew what it was about. I just completed the survey and have the general idea but need a synopsys to present to the group. It’s a University group… Late fall is a much better time. Thanks.

I have never made it to a Bike! Bike! because I try to keep a motor minimalist traveling radius.
Please fill out this interest survey before 8am on May 1*:
https://www.cognitoforms.com/MotorMinimalism1/BikeBike2021InterestForm
I am also happy to share the results (minus contact info) with anyone who is curious.
Thanks,
Angel

Any news on plans for 2021? Virtual?
we could have it be really informal. Use the BikeBike website to post a topic and instead of a location, it would be a zoom room.
Just thinking of you all and wishing you the best wherever you are.

About Bike!Bike! here https://en.bikebike.org/about/. Last year it didn't happen due to pandemic. This year it's going to be online due to pandemic. Stay tuned, more details on Tuesday morning.

Thanks.

Hi all,
I am going through the list of people who expressed interest in helping organize this year's online Bike!Bike! as we speak.
Thanks,
Angel
PS - Ainsley, I sent you a direct email in response to your survey result before I saw this email that you sent to the Think Tank. Ok, now back to poring over the interest survey results!
PPS - Jim, any chance you know of any community bike shops that aren't on this list https://www.bikecollectives.org/wiki/Community_Bicycle_Organizations#Mexico and should be? I am going through and gathering emails for every community bike org on that page, to let them know about Bike!Bike! Everywhere! 2021.

Hi all,
It has been confirmed.
